Ios Lovers | A Destination Shoot by The Isle

The first click from the photographers camera was electric, effortlessly capturing the Ios lovers as they bathed in the fading light of the island, amongst blush velvet blooms and the frothy overflow of gypsophila, as if no one else in the world was there. Candles flickered while a storm brewed gently across the neighbouring islands…

The real story of Magali Montori and Dan Callinan, the ‘Ios Lovers’ captured so beautifully by Italian photographer Stefano Santucci, started with the island itself. Having met one balmy summer night in Ios before taking to the skies and jet-setting across the world, hand-in-hand, it was fitting that the couple returned to the island, to the place where their love story began.

“These two intrinsic souls were the perfect couple for the ‘LOVERS’ shoot,” explain The Isle, the destination wedding and elopement planning, styling and design studio behind the couple’s editorial. Their inspiration “was artfully curated around the picturesque window at Ios Club”, where a breathtaking view laid itself elegantly out before them. Above, the design studio recalls, it was “the temper of the sky” that “created a dramatic cinematic setting for Santucci to capture.”
